Online shops can be complex affairs however they don't have to be, especially when you have a niche product and only want to sell a few different items. This was the brief from a client we have done various projects with over the last 3 years.
Way Fresh were approached to create an ecommerce shop for a baby food called BabyLed. The product is a weaning spread which is specially aimed at the low salt and organic end of the baby food market. We were given a nice fresh brief which really only stated a few key 'must have's'.
These were that the shop must be;
- Clean
- Lots of white space
- No unnecessary text
- Ultra-easy to navigate
So with that we took a look around at what competitors were doing and began with some initial visuals. The shop was to be developed using the Shopify framework with a blank theme. We then took to enhancing the theme to deliver custom fonts and a clean unobtrusive white look.
We introduced some characters and wanted to visually show the ingredients of each spread so we have ingredients images on each product view page as the product is mainly about what's inside it and the ultra-healthy recipes.
The BabyLed Weaning Spreads shop was developed over a few weeks and the client is over the moon with the results. The ability to purchase items has been disabled until the full range is in stock so we are really looking forward to the shop starting to sell and will be keeping a close eye on the proposed crown funding campaign that the owner has in store for this ecommerce solution from Way Fresh.
